Responsible gambling in practical steps, not slogans

Gambling is entertainment with a price: mathematically, long-term, the house wins. As long as you treat stakes like a cinema ticket — a cost, not an investment — you're in the safe zone. This page exists for when that boundary starts moving.

Three rules before the first game

  1. Set the deposit limit before, not after. Every ONJN-licensed operator must offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits in account settings. Lowering applies instantly; raising is delayed by design.
  2. Play only money meant for entertainment. Never rent, loan or bill money. Control rule: if losing the amount would make you hide it from someone, it's too much.
  3. Never chase losses. "One more deposit to break even" is the core mechanism of the problem, not a strategy.

Signs it's no longer entertainment

Tools at licensed operators

Deposit limits, temporary time-outs, long-term self-exclusion (including industry-wide via ONJN), and session reminders — all in account settings or via support. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed on impulse, by design.

Free, confidential help in Romania

Free helplines and specialised counselling programmes for gambling addiction exist; ONJN's official site (onjn.gov.ro) maintains the current list of resources. A family doctor can also refer you to subsidised counselling. Gambling addiction is a documented, treatable health condition — asking for help is the winning move.
